About Me

Hi, I’m Amy Nicole Parker. I was born and raised in Texas and now call Utah home. My love for art began early—I got my first sketchbook at age 9, and I still have it today. For years, I focused on drawing and sketching with pencils, capturing the world around me in lines and shading.

In December 2013, just a few months after I was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a friend introduced me to wood burning. It felt like a natural shift—translating my sketching and shading skills to this new medium. I even dabbled in painting a few of the burnings with acrylic, but for a long time, I told myself, “I’m not a painter.”

That changed in December 2022, when I received a set of watercolor pencils. I tried them on wood and finished three pieces, but it wasn’t until March 22, 2023, that I used watercolor paper for the first time—and I completely fell in love. Since then, I’ve explored everything from watercolor cakes to liquid watercolors, and I’ve taught myself new techniques that continue to help me grow.

Watercolor has become more than a medium for me—it’s a source of healing and emotional expression. Through painting, I’ve been able to process life’s ups and downs, and as I’ve begun painting the Savior, I’ve felt a deeper spiritual connection and love from Him.

My hope is that through my art, others can feel that same peace, light, and love.
